Party by the Park was a tremendous success this year, with more than 1,700 people coming together to enjoy a fantastic day of circus themed activities, live music and community spirit!
Although traditionally Party by the Park features rain, the weather was kind, with only a little drizzle and generally staying dry, allowing everyone to make the most of the outdoor activities.
Families of all ages enjoyed an exciting day filled with various free activities, including a giant inflatable obstacle course, glittery face painting, circus skills workshops, Rotary’s splat-the-rat and spectacular aerial performances that kept crowds entertained throughout the day. The popular Puddle Duck made a visit and even hooked-a-duck and won a prize!! Tiny tots got to try a taste of Baby Ballet, and the free crafts tables saw animals come to life with colourful masks.

The soundtrack to the day featured live music from Rock Choir, Blue Light Theatre and Bargestra who all created energetic, party vibes throughout the day. Residents came along to chat to staff on the JRHT information stall and the Folk Hall café offered tasty party style food including burgers their famous chunky chips!
Those looking for a bite to eat also had the option of Galloping Dough, serving delicious pizzas and Schmoozy’s ice creams- helping to keep everyone cool. The tombola’s were another huge hit, with one selling out completely thanks to the incredible generosity of prize donors and the enthusiasm of visitors.
The day was a wonderful celebration of the community, bringing people together to try new activities, share fun and laughter. Events like this are only possible thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, JRHT teams and everyone who attended.
One family who attended summed up the spirit of the day, saying:
“It’s great to see a FREE community event where families can come in the summer holidays and have fun with their children without having to worry about spending loads of money. It was a great event and my kids really loved trying the circus skills and zorbing, even Grandad got his face painted!”

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Party by the Park such a memorable event. We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back next year!!
