Saturday 17th September – Recycling Day at the Folk Hall – Let’s be Green!

We have a great event coming to the Folk Hall this September, in conjunction with Chaffinch, Reboot North Yorkshire, Rotary and St Nicks, where we will be hosting a recycling day! Set up in our main hall will be a wide range of bins, recycling caddies and recycling points for you to recycle items you have lying around. You can see below the large selection of items we can help you recycle so have a look in those draws and see what you can find. Everything we can recycle helps us to be less wasteful and push for a greener, better planet.

As a green hub we always aim to support the New Earswick and local York community in being more aware of waste and how we can combat it. We cannot wait to see you there and together we can make a difference.

Friday 23rd September – Film at the Folk Hall presents The Duke

Our next Film at the Folk Hall is here! In 1961, 60-year-old Kempton Bunton stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. He sent ransom notes saying that he would return the painting on condition that the government invested more in care for the elderly. What happened next became the stuff of legend. An uplifting true story about a good man who set out to change the world and managed to save his marriage…
