The Folk Hall’s smallest room, Pippin, is ideal for tutoring/mentoring sessions, interviews, or as an ad-hoc office space. The room is equipped with a small meeting table with 2 chairs, and a single desk. Capacity up to 2 people. Can also be used as a smaller breakout space. Pippin is situated on the first floor and is accessible via the platform lift. A portable hearing loop is available in the room.

Break Out Spaces

As part of your event we can also offer break out spaces for you and your delegates to utilise when smaller group work is needed or just as a set area to take a break in during the course of your event. We have Russet Breakout, Rowntree and Lambourne which are all located on the first floor and the mezzanine. These are ideal as breakout spaces due to their close proximity to both the Russet and Bramley rooms.

These can be set up with extra elements, such as flip charts and with extra chairs and layouts as required. These spaces are all accessible via the platform lift.

Discovery

Discovery is used for a range of community and young people’s activities in collaboration with Open Shop. The room was completed ready for the Folk Hall official re-opening and celebration weekend in September 2018, designed by pupils from Joseph Rowntree School and New Earswick based artist, Liz Foster.

There are limited opportunities for booking this room, and the room would be suitable for informal meetings of up to 20 people, or small group activities such as music groups, craft workshops or training sessions.

Currently the Discovery room is not available for booking due to the ongoing works to make the room fully accessible via a ramp. This is due to finish early 2023.
