Indoor spaces
Throughout the building we also have a number of community spaces that you’re very welcome to use. Upstairs on the mezzanine we have Russet Breakout and Rowntree. Both have a range of chairs and tables for you to meet up for a quick tea and coffee or get some work done in a bit more privacy. If you continue past the Pippin room, you’ll find the Explore Library computers and our Lambourne space. You can book some of these areas too. Russet Breakout, Rowntree and Lambourne have been used by the U3Aand other groups for meetings, and they are often used by the Explore library and various book groups. We love to see all parts of the building in use.

Outdoor spaces
We also have plenty of space outside for you to use and enjoy. Just outside the library and Folk Hall front entrance there’s a seating area where you can enjoy the fresh air and maybe get stuck into a good book! If you fancy enjoying your food and drink from our café outside, there’s additional seating close to the front entrance.

Between the Folk Hall and New Lodge we also have a big green space for users of the Folk Hall and residents of New Lodge to sit and enjoy. The wide open space leaves plenty of room for a quick picnic, relaxing with friends or going somewhere a bit greener when visiting family!
Play area
Next to the swimming pool and the car park is the fantastic children’s play area – a big space for your kids to play and have fun during nice weather. There is a selection of different play equipment for older and younger children.
