Discovery Room Works

We are constantly looking to improve accessibility for the Folk Hall, be it through the new Braille menu and accessible menus, or the clear signage and Changing Places plus the lift access to the upper rooms. Our next goal is making our lovely discovery room more accessible and user friendly, opening it up to all users of the Folk Hall. This comes in the form of a fully accessible ramp!

Works on the planned installation of a fully accessible ramp to allow Folk Hall users to access the Discovery Room (the room at the end of the building overlooking Elm Tree Mews) are due to start on Monday 6 June. We expect this work will take around 12 weeks to complete.

The level of disruption to the area should have little to no impact on the wider community, however we anticipate that there will be a small amount of noise. This should be minimal and will be limited to between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday.

The path that runs adjacent to the discovery room may be affected.

If you have any queries regarding this please contact me on 01904 752211 or at Jennifer.piggin@jrht.org.uk

We hope you agree that the work will be a welcome addition and make the Folk Hall fully accessible. We hope to welcome you into the space upon completion later this year.
