For meetings and events, there’s nowhere quite like the Folk Hall. Within our beautiful, unique building, there’s a range of modern, well-equipped and accessible meeting rooms and catering options to meet all your requirements.
We have five bookable meeting rooms, with capacities between 2 and 200 people. Our experienced team will help guide you to the most suitable room and can advise and assist with the layout and your resource requirements. We’ll also set up the room and clear furniture away after your booking.
There’s a great choice of catering options too, from hot or cold drinks and light bites to three-course served meals, prepared and served by our exceptional catering team. We can cater for a wide range of dietary requirements and allergens – just let us know what you need and we’ll be happy to help.
Orchard Hall
With a capacity of up to 200 people and a vast variety of set-up styles and possibilities, Orchard Hall is a light and spacious room that’s idea for hosting all kinds of events, including conferences, talks, exhibitions, meetings, training sessions and competitions.

Bramley
Bramley is the second largest of our rooms. It’s on the first floor, and fully accessible via our platform lift. A light, bright and well-ventilated space, Bramley is suited to a range of activities including meetings, presentations, training sessions, smaller parties and low-impact exercise such as yoga.
Please note that for fire safety reasons we can accommodate a maximum of three wheelchairs in this room.

Russet
Russet is the Folk Hall’s dedicated small meeting and training room, with a capacity of up to 16 people, boardroom style. The room is on the first floor and is fully accessible via a platform lift from the ground floor.

Pippin
The Folk Hall’s smallest room, Pippin can accommodate two people and is ideal for tutoring/mentoring sessions, interviews, or as a quiet and private office space. It also makes a useful breakout space. The room is equipped with a small meeting table with two chairs, and a single desk. Pippin is situated on the first floor and is accessible via the platform lift. A portable hearing loop is available in the room.
Break-out spaces
As part of your event or meeting, we can also offer break-out spaces for you and your group to use when you need to split into smaller groups or just as a set area where you can take a break. We have Russet Breakout, Rowntree and Lambourne, which are all located on the first floor and the mezzanine, accessible via the platform lift.
We can set up these spaces with extra elements, such as flipcharts, extra chairs and different layouts as required.
Discovery
Discovery is a fantastic space used for a range of community and young people’s activities, led by the communities team at Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust. It’s a vibrant space with a fully working kitchen and accessible surfaces, and it’s now fully accessible by a ramp.
There are limited opportunities for booking this room, but do get in touch and let us know if you’d like to hire it. Discovery is suitable for informal meetings of up to 20 people, or small group activities such as music groups, craft workshops or training sessions.
