It assumes no prior experience and there will be a caller on the day to show you the simple steps. It is suitable for people of all activity levels; dance as much or as little as suits your ability. WEA Families Get Active want to create a friendly atmosphere where everyone can have a go.

We will be selling soft drinks and snacks on the day so do come along and join in!

Through generous Sport England and WEA funding they are able to offer this event to you for only £5 per family; based on maximum 2 adults and 3 children. (Please note there maybe a slightly higher price for larger families).

If you are struggling to meet the price of the ticket, please send them a quick email at and they can reduce the ticket price for you.

Who are they?

Families Get Active; is a three year project funded by Sport England and WEA to help support families to get active in their local neighbourhood. They like to connect with communities and find simple, local cost activities for parents and carers to try out. Research shows that being active is great for our physical health and wellbeing. If you make it FUN it is more likely that it will be sustainable and the whole family will want to be involved.

Please contact Rebecca Rowan; for more information or via their Facebook Group

Really looking forward to welcoming you!

Breeding Grounds follows Stuart and Ingrid, they have been together a long time but the fault line sin their relationship are getting ever more fragile.

Ingrid sees life through the focus of her work as an agency carer and climate change activist, whilst Stuart is a back bench MP. His perspectives are based on political pragmatism, hers on a sense of urgency and the belief that change must begin with each individual.

Breeding Grounds explores the human response to sustainability, world population and the moral dilemmas that are no facing each and every one of us in our daily lives. And to which we have to find our own accommodating solutions in the face of what seems to many to be a state of political inertia.

Journeymen Theatre are a West Midlands-based Human Rights theatre company. They tour extensively throughout the UK and are supported by Stourbridge Quakers and associated Quaker organisations.

Saturday 2nd July – Swing Commanders

The Swing Commanders take well crafted songs from the thirties to the fifties, from American Songbook classics to Western Swing and Novelty songs, and overlay them with lush vocal harmonies and hot solos. The rhythms, varying from ballads to jive to quicksteps, are great for dances, theatre shows, and parties.

The Swing Commanders have appeared, often headlining, at most of the UK’s top Vintage and Country Music festivals. They are loved by fans of Jazz, Country, Swing and Blues, and find it easy to fill dancehalls with lindy hoppers, modern jivers, line, partner and social dancers. They play all over the UK, regularly tour Europe and when they can, cross the pond to visit the US! The band members have a wealth of musical experience, from bar room to classical concert hall, as well as an understanding of dance and theatre.

This results in a stage show that is technically precise and wildly entertaining. Everyone involved loves performing the music, and this shines through. People who experience the band for the first time are amazed at the energetic showmanship, the instrument swapping, the intricate arrangements, and sophisticated vocal blend. This isn’t a nostalgia trip or Rat Pack karaoke. It is fine songs played joyfully and brilliantly.

You won’t want to miss out on this event spectacular and we hope you can join us!
